This qualification is intended for learners who are new to working in finance and want to build a solid foundation in accounting practice. It covers core bookkeeping and costing skills, from double-entry bookkeeping through to computerised accounting basics.
Learners who complete this qualification are equipped for entry-level roles such as accounts clerk, accounts assistant, or junior bookkeeper. There are no formal academic entry requirements, though learners should have a sound level of literacy and numeracy and be able to complete assessments in English. On successful completion, learners progress to the FETC: Accounting Technician NQF Level 4.
