This qualification further develops the accounting skills of learners working within provincial and national government departments. It is the second level of the AT(SA) Public Sector pathway, introducing more complex accounting, tax, and financial management tasks relevant to the public sector context.
The qualification reflects the standards required under the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations, preparing learners to take on more senior operational responsibilities within government finance teams. On completion, learners can progress to the Certificate: Accounting Public Sector NQF Level 5.
